Training course programme

Training course programme

We run an annual programme of one and two days courses across the UK, focusing on ultrasound theory and practical scanning experience with models.

Vascular Ultrasound Imaging course: 13 -14th March 2018

Venue: Novotel Hotel, Manchester, UK
This course covers the application of duplex, pulsed wave, colour and power Doppler techniques in the investigation of the abdominal, extra and intra-cranial and peripheral vasculature. The emphasis will be on practical hands-on workshops using a range of ultrasound systems and there will opportunity to use a limb phantom for training in ultrasound monitoring of EVLT procedures.

Venous Surgical Procedures training: 14th April 2018

Venue: Prime Health Clinic, Weybridge, Surrey, UK
This training course aims to provide training in endovenous laser therapy of the lower limb veins including ultrasound guided simulation and live demonstration of endovascular laser ablation techniques. The course also covers laser safety training, accreditation and live demonstrations of EVLA in theatre.

Carotid Ultrasound Imaging course:  19th May 2018

Venue: Royal Society of Medicine, London, UK.
Basic principles of imaging; haemodynamics and Doppler ultrasound techniques; investigating extracranial arteries, intracranial arteries, post-endarterectomy imaging; B-scan and Doppler artefacts.

Introduction to Ultrasound Imaging course: 23rd May 2018

A one day course for those new or of limited experience in ultrasound imaging. A comprehensive combination of lectures, demonstrations and workshop sessions, designed to provide a good practical introduction to medical imaging techniques.

Topics include: Basic Modulalities, FAST, MSK, DVT, Vascular, 3D/4D Obstetrics or Optimizing Imaging

Venous Ultrasound Imaging Course: 3rd November 2018

Venue: Royal Society of Medicine, London, UK.
This course covers the application of duplex, pulsed wave, colour and power Doppler techniques in the investigation of the superficial and deep venous systems. The emphasis will be on practical hands-on workshops using a range of ultrasound systems and there will opportunity to use a limb phantom for training in ultrasound monitoring of EVLT procedures.
