In response to the NICE recommendation for people with confirmed varicose veins and truncal reflux to be offered endothermal ablation, Wessex Diagnostic is now providing training in endovenous laser therapy of the lower limb veins.

This full day in clinic, includes live demonstrations of endovascular laser ablation and also a range of foam sclerotherapy and avulsion techniques, dependent on clinic programme.

Topics include:

  •    Ultrasound imaging of surgical procedures
  •    Live demonstrations of EVLA, foam sclerotherapy and avulsions in theatre
  •    Opportunity to train on EVLA simulation using a limb phantom
  •    Optional: Laser Safety Training and Certificate*

*The Laser Safety Training and certificate can be undertaken during the course for an additional fee. It covers the 2015 MHRA recommended ‘Core of Knowledge’ and is suitable for all operators of lasers.

Who is the course for?

Please note, due to the clinical nature of this course, it is only eligible to medical professionals with experience of ultrasound imaging.

We would recommend those with little/ no scanning experience to attend either the Venous Ultrasound Imaging course or the second day of the Vascular Ultrasound Imaging as a prerequisite.
